November 13th

Some duck movement over the past few days has resulted in a drop in the number of Tufted duck on site, with 44 recorded this morning. There was also no sign of the female Ruddy duck. Pochard numbers on the other hand had increased from 3 drakes on Tuesday to 7 (4 drakes and 3 ducks). The first recorded wigeon at the site for this winter period flew over the main pool mid morning, the flock numbering around 30 continued north along the Tame valley. Other species noted were Grey Wagtail, 9 Goldcrest, 20 Siskin, 100+ Redwing, 80+ Fieldfare, RL Partridge, 17 Phesant and a Gadwall (drake).
