With good numbers of Black Terns around in the rest of the country and some in the Midlands, I headed down to the res this afternoon in the hope that there would be some present. However there were none to be seen but the heavy showers around did produce 10 Common Tern (including 1 juvenile) and a count of 83 Lesser black backed Gull. Also present were 2 Gadwall and 2 Common sandpiper. A Raven flew over the western end of the main pool at around 5pm, this represents the first record for this species at the site this year.
