A good start to the month when five Black-tailed Godwits flew in from the west at 10-20 this morning. They were on the ground for only a matter of seconds before being flushed by a dog walker, they flew towards the eastern end circled the pool once then flew of high to the east.This is only the second record for this species at the pool, the previous being in July 2006.

Also noted this morning were, 2 Little Owls, 2 Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Hobby, Kingfisher, Common Sandpiper, and 81 Great Crested Grebes. The eastern end of the small pool is still very productive with 4 Goldcrest, 12 Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Nuthatch, 2 Blackcap, 2 Green Woodpecker, 16 Long-tailed Tits and several Bullfinch noted.
