During a quick scan upon arrival at the pool this morning a flock of 19 siskin flew over the pool and off in a southerly direction. Whilst walking along the north shore i noticed a wader flying west low over the water, the bird then turned north and gained height, flying into a small flock of jackdaw which briefly mobbed it. The bird then turned back and circled low over the pool when it became obvious it was a Curlew sandpiper. After circling the pool it gained height once again and headed off in an easterly direction. This represents the first record of Curlew Sandpiper at the site. Also of note this morning were 7 Meadow Pipit (over south), 3 Buzzard, Little Owl and 4 Greylag Geese.
